!The Building: The 1200 Ouest is a twin tower development in the heart of the Golden Square Mile in the heart of Downtown Montreal. It was built in 2006 and was given a very classic look, especially in the lower floors. The building is a Lepine design and was originally planned as an apartment building for rentals only. Its destination was then revised and it became a condo building. Both towers are building on one foundation, although from a services point of view, the only things they share is the indoor garage and the pool. Both buildings have their own gym, sauna, lobbys and 24/7 doorman service.
The condos: The units are usually very large. The smallest are the one bedroom units at 800 square feet and are located on the inside of the buildings. There are larger one bedroom units on the lower floors that are the size of a two bedroom unit (1200 sf) but not suited for a second bedroom. Instead they have large living rooms and a very large bedroom. There are thre different types of two bedroom units. Those that have no balcony are around 1150 square feet, those around 1270 square feet which are corner units with a balcony, and those that are 1550 square feet which are corner units with a balcony and even have the option of inserting a third bedroom.
Other than that, there are the penthouse units which vary in size between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet.
The location: The 1200 Ouest is located at 1200-1210 de Maisonneuve West Boulevard in the area known as the Golden Square Mile. Its location is ideal as it is Downtown Montreal’s finest neighbourhood with easy access to the underground city, Crescent, Peel and St Catherine’s street are just a stone’s throw away. It is also ideally located for those who study or work at McGill and Concordia Universities. The nearest access to the subway (Metro) green line is just across the street. The area is packed with high end shops, restaurants, cafes, and more convivial pubs and casual eateries.
